About John David Doose

John David Doose graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

After graduating he spent four years in the U.S. Navy working as a Journalist at NAS Jacksonville.

Having fulfilled his basic responsibilities to society he set off in search of his spiritual community. The search included nine months backpacking through the Southwest and Northwest U.S. and 13 months of living in Ananda, a Yoga Community near Grass Valley, CA. He eventually became of a member of the Unification Church founded by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon.

He spent 8 years in New York City working as the Features Editor for The News World and as an editor for Paragon Publishers. He was the first Managing Editor of the interfaith religious journal Dialogue and Alliance.

He spent two years at the Unification Theological Seminary in Barrytown, NY.  He received a Certificate in Religious Education.

He is married and he and his Japanese wife, Sanae, have three children and two grandchildren.
